Bob Kahns
Performance Marketing Manager
What I do at Proofpoint
I help take a client’s product/service marketing strategy and turn it into digital marketing gold. Helping to define and target the right audience, with the right message, at the right time, to drive conversations and relationships at scale.
Why you should consider Proofpoint
The proof is in the pudding, seriously. I have never worked for a company as open and honest about every aspect of the company. Working for a company that gets it, and proves day-in and day-out that a company’s ethos is much more than a cute mission statement, is refreshing.
My professional background
I have worked both in-house and in agencies, creating processes and delivering paid media campaigns that drive results, always striving for digital marketing done right.
My digital marketing career started with paid search, and has expanded to include paid social, SEO, display, video, analytics, and just about anything you can think of.
My philosophy and strategy has been guided by Marcus Shridan’s They Ask You Answer, which in it’s simplicity is about communicating with your audience about the questions they have about your product or service. Avinash Kaushik would be my secondary guiding light as I became more obsessed with measuring digital marketing, and his Occam’s Razor blog is great at detailing what to, and not, to do via analytics.

Things I like to do outside of work
My family (wife Jamie and our 2 boys Kenny & Vinny) and I try to take advantage of all that Florida has to offer, so you can typically find us in, on or near water. When we are not swimming in the pool or the gulf, you will likely find us on a baseball field or camping with the boy scouts.
We also spend time volunteering as much as possible, with plenty of beach and roadside cleanup activities throughout the year. I also work with 501c3 non-profits in helping them get setup and running with Google Ad Grants.
If you're working alongside me, I care about…
Communication and feedback. Working remote can be difficult for many, but if you keep lines of communication open (call, text, email, chat, etc.) then the work you get done ca be
Advice for candidates
Be open and honest with what you want out of your career. The type of company you want to work for, the people you want to work with, and the results will be there for you.

You can learn a lot from a failed experiment. But not experimenting will make you a total failure.
